1. You assign access to a trusted individual, like a neighbor or family member, via the ADT+ app.
2. Then, you configure permissions. You can give neighbors timed access, allowing them to enter and depart during specific hours, or event-based admittance. For instance, if a delivery arrives, the system can release the door to let your neighbor bring it indoors once it authenticates them.
3. When you’ve programmed access, your Google Nest Doorbell camera with familiar face detection verifies your neighbor as they approach the door.
4. Your ADT security system will pause the alarm and release the door lock when the individual is verified as an approved guest.
5. You receive immediate updates as your family member, friend, or neighbor enters and exits. The app also supplies a detailed log. 
6. After the trusted neighbor departs, your smart door lock secures independently to protect your home.

You can authorize access for anyone you want, such as a dog walker, a service technician, or a friend who comes over when you’re out. This feature is also helpful during emergencies, especially when you’re off site. For example, if a water sensor triggers, your system can provide event-driven access so a neighbor can switch off the water. The handy app makes programming permissions straightforward.
